1.Au XIXe siècle, Steven Macy est recruté comme régisseur d’une plantation de tabac, à Bornéo. Mais il prend le pays et son climat en horreur et se consume de désir pour l’épouse du propriétaire, Rhona Warwick. Il décide de faire appel à un malfrat local, qui propose d’occire le mari grâce à une méthode locale, un perce-oreille introduit dans le conduit auditif et progressant ensuite jusqu’au cerveau.
